Certified Lead Renovator - Initial and Refresher Kennewick, WA

The EPA and WA State requires all contractors who may disturb lead paint by Renovation, Repair, or Painting (RRP) on pre-1978 homes become a Certified Renovator as of March, 22, 2011. The fines hurt: Up to $10,000 for each violation!

To comply with this new law, contractors must have one Certified Renovator on staff and have their company certified with  the EPA or Washington State Department of Commerce for $50  fee.

To become a Certified Firm, you must have someone from your firm take an 8-hour course with a hands-on component.  Your firm must then apply for certification as a firm with an on staff Certified Renovator.  In the Certified Lead Renovator class you learn:

  • How to comply with the EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule, including education requirements for homeowners

  • How to check for lead paint

  • How to containment, minimize exposure along with cleanup
    procedures
