Northwest Independent Contractor's Association has received a State of Washington, Department of Labor and Industries, Safety and Health Investments Projects (SHIP) grant for Ladder Safety! This grant includes the making of several videos and a much anticipated update of our Monthly Safety Plan. GHS HAZCOM
OSHA's updated Hazardous Communication (HAZCOM) Program standards requires Employees to be trained on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) additions to their HAZCOM plans. In Washington State, the Department of Labor and Industries requires the training be provided by employers. This video is an overview of how GHS can be integrated into existing HAZCOM programs. Health Hazards in Renovation
This video is an overview of the requirements and best practices for Washington State contractors who do renovations. Many buildings contain asbestos, lead, silica, and mold and contractors are required to protect their workers and the public from these materials.
